The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indore In collaboration with the Biotech Research Society of India (BRSI) will conduct a Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP)-III, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India Sponsored online course on Systems Analysis of Biofuels & Bioproducts from July 19 to August 6, 2021.
This course will provide an introduction and overview of the LCA methodology, various tools to perform LCA, and its use in assessing the environmental impacts. The course will consist of lectures focusing on theory and case studies highlighting the use of these methods to assess sustainability.
Indian Institute of Technology, Indore (IIT Indore or IITI), located in Madhya Pradesh, is one of the Institutes of Technology established by the Government of India in 2009. It is one of the eight new Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India under The Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 2011 which declares eight new IITs as well as the conversion of Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University to IIT.
By the end of this course, for a given system, you must be able to:
- Describe various aspects of sustainability.
- Evaluate technical feasibility.
- Assess economic viability.
- Evaluate the environmental impacts

Classes will be held online from 5:00-7:30 pm every day. (Except 25 July and 1 Aug.). On 24 and 31 July, the classes will be held from 3:00-6:00 pm. All times are Indian Standard Time. Opensource software and databases must be downloaded and installed before the commencement of the classes (links will be sent with notice of acceptance). The course will consist of theory lectures along with case studies. Participants will work on a small project of their choice. The last date to register is July 10, 2021.
