The Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand organizing an Online Course on Sustainable Composites: Processing, Characterization & Applications from February 22 to 26, 2021.
The objective of STC is to provide an insight into the processing of sustainable composites along with recent advancements in the field of sustainable composites which will help to carry out research in this field.
National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand is amongst the emerging NITs, located in Srinagar Garhwal. It was established in 2009 under the Act of Parliament of India by the Ministry of Human Resource Development and designated with the status of “Institute of National Importance”. The Institute offers B.Tech, M.Tech in Engineering branches, and Ph.D. courses in Engineering and Science disciplines.
Course Highlights
This course will cover how sustainable polymer and natural fibers based textiles can be used to make strong renewable composites for the automotive and building construction industries. The STC will also cover the recycling of natural fiber-reinforced composites for sustainable composites and its life cycle analysis.
The STC will also focus on design and failure analysis of polymer composites (carbon/ glass fibers), knowledge of strength of laminated composite materials, failure mechanisms, and failure criteria. Application of failure criteria to composite materials and structures design. Application of composites in wind turbine rotor blades, as well as bio-medical fields, will also be covered.
Registration Fees
There is no registration fee for the participants of TEQIP funded institutions. The registration fee for all delegates from Industry/ R&D organization/ Academic/ UG/ PG/ Ph.D. (Non-TEQIP) institutions is ₹ 250/- (Rupees Two Hundred Fifty Only).
