About

The Department of Chemistry, Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur is organizing an Online Short Term Course on Nanomaterials for Environmental Applications: Characterization by Analytical Tools from November 17 to 21, 2020.

Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur is one of the premier NITs, designated with the status of “Institute of National Importance” by the Ministry of Education.

The institute was established in 1963, and its campus spreads over 325 acres of lush green area in the central location of Jaipur city. The institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses (B. Tech., M. Tech./ MBA/ M.Sc. & Ph.D.) to about 4500 students, in leading fields of engineering, technology, architecture, management & sciences.

Course Objectives

The objective of this course is to share knowledge about the various types of nanomaterials such as engineered, functionalized, and doped with their characterizations using various analytical tools like electron microscopy (FESEM, TEM), spectroscopy (XPS, PES, and AES), diffraction techniques (PXRD, single crystal), physical and chemisorption
techniques.

This course will also relate the use of nanomaterials in environmental remediation. Various tools employed for wastewater treatment using nanomaterials will also be discussed comprehensively. Various chromatographic and spectrometric techniques with their working and interpretation of data obtained from such techniques will also be discussed in this unique short term course by eminent scientists, academicians, and industrial experts.

Who can Attend?

Students and faculty members from government and private organizations with a post-graduate degree are eligible to attend the course. The program is of interdisciplinary nature.

Resource Person

The Resource Persons for the course will be highly experienced faculty members from IITs, NITs, CSIR Labs, and Industry.
