The Department of Mechanical Engineering, MNIT Jaipur is organizing a One-week Short term course (online) on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) For Solving Engineering Problems from August 7 to 11, 2020.

The goal of this course is to introduce the virtues and capabilities of CFD analysis to engineers, research scholars, professionals, and scientists. The Short Term Course (STC) sessions will be conducted by eminent speakers from IITs, NITs, CFTIs, and reputed institutions, etc.

MNIT Jaipur was established in 1963, formerly known as Malaviya Regional Engineering College, Jaipur, as a joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Rajasthan. Subsequently, on June 26, 2002, it was rechristened as the National Institute of Technology.

Focus Areas

The STC comprises of five modules as mentioned below:

  1. Introduction to CFD, Governing Equations, boundary conditions
  2. Numerical methods for CFD: FDM, FVM, discretization schemes
  3. Solution algorithms, pressure correction
  4. Convergence, verification, and validation
  5. CAD modeling, domain discretization
  6. Data interpretation and visualization
  7. Mesh generation, grid independency & order of accuracy test using a commercial package
  8. Numerical simulation of benchmark thermo-fluid problems
  9. Post-processing–contour plot, vector plot, streamlines, XY plot, etc.
Target Audience

Short term course may be attended by the following:

  • Students: UG, PG, Ph.D. (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Aerospace, Mechatronics Engineering)
  • Faculty of Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Aerospace, Mechatronics Engineering)
  • Other professionals (Engineers and scientists from Industry and R&D organizations)
Registration Fee

The participation fee including GST is mentioned below.

For Participants from TEQIP Institutes

  1. General: INR 250 (student), INR 500 (faculty)
  2. Women/ SC/ ST/ OBC participants: Complete fee waiver

For Participants from Non-TEQIP Institutes

  1. General: INR 500 (student), INR 750 (faculty)
  2. Women/ SC/ ST/ OBC participants: Complete fee waiver

For Participants from Industry

  1. General: INR 1000
  2. Women/ SC/ ST/ OBC participants: Complete fee waiver
