Short Term Course on Biometrics @ NIT, Durgapur [August 7-11]: Apply by July 31: Expired

About the Course:

Biometric equipment has been used for recognizing a person based on a physiological or behavioural characteristic such as fingerprint, palmprint, face, hand geometry, iris, signature, voice, etc. The number of security breaches and transaction fraud increases day by day.

The need for highly secure identification and personal verification technologies are becoming apparent in government IDs, secure electronic banking, investing and other financial transactions, retail sales, law enforcement, and health and social services.

The course will cover the following topics.

1) Introduction to Image Processing

2) Introduction to Biometrics

3) Introduction to MATLAB and ImageJ

4) Fingerprint and Palmprint Biometrics

5) Face and IRIS Biometrics

6) Multimodal Biometrics

Participants:

STCB is aimed to attract and bring together Faculty Members, Scientists, Engineers, Technologists, Research Scholars and PG/UG students from Academic and Research Institutions and Industries. The participants will get new insights and know ledge about Biometrics through close interactions and discussions with the Senior Professors and Experts of the Biometrics.

Registration fees:

  • Participants from Academic, R & D Institutions, and Industries: 3,000.00
  • Ph.D. Scholar, PG, and UG Student: 1,000.00

Registration fee includes STCB kit, refreshments, and lunch for 5 days during the course.

Payment may be made only by DEMAND DRAFT in favour of STCB, Payable at Durgapur.
