National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), Bangalore is a premier institute in India engaged in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research in natural sciences, social sciences, arts, and humanities. It was founded by J.R.D. Tata for providing an avenue for administrators, managers, and social leaders for interaction and exchange of information with notable academics in the areas of science, arts, and humanities.
Project Associates (01)
Successful candidates will be part of a project and will work under the guidance of the Principal Investigator towards achieving deliverables of the project and will be located at National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bangalore – 560012. The candidates should have a research bent of mind, be prepared to travel, and conduct a field survey (experience in this regard will be appreciated). The appointment will be for the period of 1 year, which can be extended based on performance.
- PG Degrees in disciplines such as (but not restricted to): geography, geomorphology, environmental science, geoarchaeology, archaeology, architecture, civil/ computer science engineering, urban planning, remote sensing, and GIS.
- Additional skill sets that would work in favor: remote sensing image analysis and ground-truthing; GPS survey and navigation; geospatial analysis; cultural heritage conservation and management; Android app development, mobile user interface/ user experience design, remote sensing, GIS, GIS programming, Web GIS programming.
