About the Seminar
As India aims to occupy a strategic position in the world map, an all-around advancement of the economy is crucial. In this backdrop, it is imperative that both the rural and urban economies progress hand in hand.
The unique cultural ideologies and practices of India can, today, be only traced back to their rural roots. The rural localities and the communities residing therein are, therefore, the real face of India. Rural development involves both economic development as well as social transformation.
Some initiatives are Rurban (Mission launched to transform rural areas and develop them to reduce the gap between rural & urban), Gramoday (focusing on the development work done in villages), the UjjawalaYojana (for providing LPG cylinders in every household) and projects are undertaken for providing clean drinking water.
