National Institute of Epidemiology (NIE) was established by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in 1999 as the flagship institute for training and research in the areas of epidemiology, public health and biostatistics in India.
The vision of NIE is to be a catalyst for a vibrant national health system through responsive research, education and training in epidemiology and public health. ICMR School of Public Health under NIE, started conducting M.Sc. (Bio-Statistics) course from the year 2016.
The prescribed application form for the course can be downloaded from the Institute’s website here. The prescribed application form given in the website or its photocopy alone should be used. Application in any other form will not be considered.
Applications should be submitted along with the application fee of Rs.1,000/- (Rupees One MSc BS IB-2 thousand only) by means of a Demand Draft drawn on any nationalized bank in favour of “Director, NIE” payable at Chennai. Applications without the application fee will not be considered.
Duly filled in Application in the prescribed form with necessary enclosures should be sent to the following address, superscribing “Application for M.Sc. Bio-Statistics” on top of the cover.

Candidates should submit the duly filled in application in the prescribed form with the Application Fee of Rs.1,000/- (original Demand Draft) and other enclosures by Registered/Speed Post, to reach NIE, directly, on or before 31st May 2017.
Any graduate with Statistics as a major OR allied/ancillary subject will be eligible for joining the course. Candidates appearing for the final year examination of bachelor’s degree or equivalent in April/May 2017 may also apply for the course.
Provisional selection will be done by NIE based on the information provided in the application and the enclosures. List of the candidates provisionally selected for the course will be intimated through email.
