National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) is a compulsory test for admission to 5-year integrated M.Sc Programmes in basic sciences – Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics at National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai- Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), Mumbai.
NEST 2020 will be conducted in around 90 towns and cities all over India on Saturday, June 6, 2020.
Candidates admitted to the programme are eligible to receive annual scholarship of Rs. 60,000 through DISHA programme of Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. In addition, the scholarship recipients receive a grant of Rs. 20,000 per annum for summer internship.
Candidates selected by DST for the Inspire-SHE programme are endorsed for INSPIRE Scholarship by NISER and CEBS.
Note: Students graduating from the above 2 institutions may also have an opportunity to directly attend the screening interview conducted by BARC for the post of Scientific Officer as mentioned in this year’s notification (given here).
