Minhaj Ahmed, Dr. B.R.K.R Ayurvedic Medical College, SR Nagar, Hyderabad
Charminar Ayurvedic Hospital, National Institue of Indian Medical Heritage and National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad.
My Internship started in the month of March and went on till May. I have learned a lot of things in my Internship which gave me full of confidence about Ayurvedic medicine and its uses.
Being an active student in my batch, I got many opportunities to learn a lot from my gurus.
1. Charminar Ayurvedic Hospital
In the month of March, I was posted at Charminar Ayurvedic hospital. With the help of my gurus, I learned Ayurvedic Medicine and its application to patients and its wonderful treatments. There were lots of patients at Charminar Ayurvedic Hospital as it’s a Government hospital and I have learned many cases.

When I went to my internship posting on the first day, I thought it was a waste of time, but later I came to know that it was much useful to an Ayurvedic graduate. Main tasks were that we dealt with many Ayurvedic cases with full confidence and patients were happy and satisfied. It was free of cost and we didn’t get any stipend for this. But we got a good learning experience.
2. National Institute of Indian Medical Heritage, Dilsukhnagar Hyderabad
In the month of April, I with my batchmates had Internship at National Institute of Indian Medical Heritage at Dilsukhnagar Hyderabad. It is an exclusive institute for literary research on Indian Medicine in India.
It was a wonderful institute. We have found many ancient Ayurvedic scriptures, ancient books, manuscripts etc. Even the Director was impressed by our work at this institute. We read many books there and helped the research scholars in their activities.

3. National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad
In the month May, we had an internship at National Institue of Nutrition at Hyderabad.
Here, learnt about the Nutritional value of foods, their importance and how they process organic food and their uses. They explained to us about the uses of each and every nutritional food, as an Ayurvedic Medico.
It was a wonderful experience in my life. We even met the Director of NIN. He was very much impressed with our work at his Institute. He has given opportunities in this institute after completion of my course. Being an active student and leader of my team, I got a chance to sit with Director of NIN and have a discussion about the present research on Ayurvedic plants and medicines.
Accommodation and Travel
We were provided with accommodation, good food and facilities at our college hostel. We faced problem in travelling, which they didn’t provide. We had to spend our own money on this.
Finally, I have learnt a lot of lessons at the National Institute of Indian Medical Heritage, and at Charminar Ayurvedic hospital, which will be helpful to me in my future and to the development of my Nation.
There was very good infrastructure at these Institutes. It was a great opportunity to have internships at these places.
