The Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Mumbai invites applications for admission to its M.Sc & Ph.D. Admissions for the upcoming academic session.

The Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research, Mumbai is an advanced research institution established by The Reserve Bank of India in 1987 on the occasion of its golden jubilee. The Institute’s mission is to carry out research on developmental issues from a multi-disciplinary point of view.

  • Eligibility: MSc Economics- The minimum qualification for admission to the M.Sc. program includes one of the following degrees or their equivalents: B.A./ B.Sc. in Economics/ B.Com./ B.Stat./ B.Sc. (Physics or Mathematics)/ B.Tech./ B.E. with at least 55% aggregate marks for the Economics discipline and 60% aggregate marks for other disciplines.
    PhD- The minimum qualification for admission to the Ph.D.programme includes one of the following degrees or their equivalents: M.A./ M.Sc in Economics/ M.Stat./ M.Sc. (Physics or Mathematics or Environmental Science or Operations Research)/ M.B.A./ M.Tech./ M.E./ B.Tech./ B.E. with at least 55% aggregate marks for the Economics discipline and 60% aggregate marks for other disciplines.
  • Test: The Online Test will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 (afternoon hours) at various centers,

Swachhta Saarthi Fellowship 2021 by Govt of India: Apply by Mar 19

The Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India under its “Waste to Wealth” Mission invites applications for the award of “Swachhta Saarthi Fellowship” to recognize students, community workers/self-help groups, and municipal/sanitary workers who are engaged in tackling the enormous challenge of waste management, scientifically and sustainably.

  • Eligibility: School students from 9th to 12th standards engaged in waste management community work come under Category-A. College students from College/University/Institutions – UG, PG & Research students engaged in waste management community work come under Category-B. Citizens working in the community and through Self Help Groups (SHGs), municipal or sanitary workers working beyond specifications of their job requirement/descriptions come under Category-C. A maximum of 2 citizens from the same SHG can apply.

  • Awards: In category A, Swachta Saarthis will receive Rs. 500/- per month for a period of 1 year. In category B, Swachta Saarthis will receive Rs. 1,000/- per month for a period of 1 year. In category C, Swachta Saarthis will receive Rs. 2,000/- per month for a period of 1 year.

Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program 2021 at IIPS, Mumbai: Apply by July 1

Applications are invited for admission to the full-time Post-Doctoral Fellowship (P.D.F.) program with the Government of India fellowship for the academic session 2021-2022 at the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai.

  • Eligibility: Candidates having a Ph.D. degree in Population Studies or subjects related to Population, Health,  Gender, Development, and Social Sciences are eligible to apply. Eligible foreign candidates can also apply for admission, provided they secure financial support from any outside agency.
  • Amount: The selected Indian candidates will be awarded Government of India fellowship @Rs. 50,000/- plus HRA per month for one year.
  • Application: The hard copy of the CV, copies of academic qualifications and work experience, publication reprints, and research proposal should reach “The In-charge, Academic Section, International Institute for Population Sciences, Govandi Station Road, Deonar, Mumbai-400088” on or before July 01, 2021.

As a Research Scientist, you’ll also actively contribute to the wider research community by sharing and publishing your findings, with ideas inspired by internal projects as well as from collaborations with research programs at partner universities and technical institutes all over the world.

  • Eligibility: PhD in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience in Machine Learning, NLP/NLU, Computer Vision, or Game Theory. Experience with general purpose programming languages e.g., C/C++ or Python.

The National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), Bangalore invites applications for admission to its Doctoral Program for the academic session 2021.

  • Eligibility: Admissions to the NIAS Doctoral Programme are open to those who have completed/are completing a Master’s/ M Phil degree in any relevant subject in conflict and security studies, natural sciences, engineering, mathematics, social sciences,  humanities, or the arts, and with a consistently proven academic record, including a minimum of 55% marks in the aggregate. Some research and/ or field experience in the concerned areas will be preferred.
