Junior Research Fellowship @ Department of Biotechnology, Govt of India: Apply by Feb 5: Expired

Applications are invited from bonafide Indian citizens, residing in India for award of ‘Department of Biotechnology-Junior Research Fellowship’ for pursuing research in frontier areas of Biotechnology.
The candidates will be selected through ‘Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET)’. Based on the performance in BET, two categories of merit list will be prepared(Category I and Category II). Candidates selected under Category I will be eligible for to avail the fellowship under the programme. These will be tenable in any University/Institute in India where the selected candidates register for PhD programme .
Candidates selected under Category II will be eligible to be appointed in any DBT sponsored and avail fellowship from the project equivalent ti NET/GATE, subject to selection through institutional selection process. Selection in Category II will not entitled the students for any fellowship from DBT-JRF programme.

  • Qualifications:

M.Sc./M.Tech./M.V.Sc. with Biotechnology in the title of the degree, M.Sc.Neuroscience, M.Sc. Molecular & Human Genetic, M.Sc. Bioinformatics, M.Tech Bio-process Technology, B.Tech/B.E. in Biotechnology/Bioinformatics (4 years course after 10+2).
Candidates appearing in their final year examination are also eligible.

  • Marks:

Minimum 60% in aggregate (or equivalent grade) for General & OBC candidates, and 55% for SC/ST/Differently Abled candidates.

  • Age:

Upto 28 years as of the last of application (Feb 5) for general candidates, 3 years relaxation (Upto 31 years) for OBC candidates and 5 years relaxation (Upto 33 years) for SC/ST/Differently abled/Women candidates.
