Gandhigram Rural Institute (GRI), founded by two dedicated disciples and contemporaries of Mahatma Gandhi, Dr.G.Ramachandran and Dr.T.S.Soundaram Ramachandran, has as its foundation Mahatma Gandhi’s revolutionary philosophy of Nai Talim, which effectively bridges the cognitive and practical dimensions, and focuses on the holistic development of learners, with an emphasis on skill development through value-based education, rooted in indigenous cultures and traditions.
Applications are invited for position of Junior Research Fellow/ Senior Research Fellow (1 no.) from eligible candidates for the SERB Funded project entitled “Assessment of population status, In vitro propagation and Restoration of two Endemic and Endangered Rudraksha trees (Elaeocarpus venustus Bedd. and E.munroii Mast.) of Western Ghats” for period of three years to the Department of Biology, GRI.
I class M.Sc. degree in Botany, Plant Biotechnology/ Biotechnology or other Plant Sciences with NET/GATE/BET (preferable)
Experience in Forest exploration and Plant Tissue culture
- First two years: @ Rs. 31000/- + 8% HRA/ month (Rs.33480/-)
- Third year: @ Rs. 35000/- + 8% HRA/month (Rs.37800/-)
