Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore is inviting applications for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Position as part of the Max-Planck Partner group at IIT Indore.
Simulating AGN jets in the era of multi-messenger astronomy.
The present era of multi-messenger astronomy will have wide-reaching effects in our understanding of various complex astrophysical phenomena. Jets emitted from Active Galactic Nuclei (AGNs) will form an integral part in our pursuit to interpret data obtained from multi-messenger signals.
The primary objective of this project is to develop numerical tools that would be
augmented to existing codes with an aim to study microphysical processes responsible
for particle acceleration in AGN jets. This project requires a strong background of numerical methods, knowledge of astrophysical radiation processes and proficiency in programming languages like C, C++ and Python.
Candidates with a significant background of Astrophysics having previous experience in terms of astrophysical code development, fluid dynamics modeling would be highly desirable.
