About PI (Sandip Chakraborty)
I am working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur. I obtained my Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree from Jadavpur University, Kolkata in 2009 and Master of Technology (M Tech) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), both from IIT Guwahati, in 2011 and 2014, respectively.
As a system researcher, my primary research interests is in the intersection of computer systems, human computer interaction and machine learning. More specifically, I work on various aspects of computer systems and networks, the development of assistive technologies for societal well-being, and the design of distributed, pervasive, and ubiquitous technologies over mobile devices and smartphones.
IGCAR was established in the year 1971, under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. The centre is engaged in a broad-based multidisciplinary programme of scientific research and advanced engineering directed towards the development of Fast Breeder Reactor technology.
Fast Breeder Test Reactor based on unique mixed Plutonium Uranium Carbide fuel, First of its kind in the world and KAMINI Reactor, the only operating Reactor in the World using U233 fuel are successfully operated. The design of 500 MWe Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor is completed and the construction is in progress.
