Applications are invited from qualified and bright candidates for the temporary posts of “Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/ Senior Research Fellow (SRF)” in various funded projects at the institute.

National Institute of Technology Rourkela, formerly Regional Engineering College Rourkela, is a publicly funded premier institute of higher learning for engineering, science, and technology located in the steel city of Rourkela, Odisha, India.

The post details are given below.

 

1. Junior Research Fellow (01)

A Walk-in-Interview / On-line Interview as possible will be conducted for the following assignment in a time-bound research project undertaken in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences of the Institute on July 07, 2020, at 10:30 A.M.

Junior Research Fellow (01)

Project Title

Assessment of changes in the microclimatic conditions of broadleaf and coniferous forests of Himalaya under a warming climate: application of numerical models.

Job Role

Research work related to the project. The candidate may register for Ph.D. at NIT Rourkela if he/she qualifies the Institute criteria.

Qualifications
  1. First division throughout career in M.Sc. or M.Tech. (Atmospheric Science and related science /Meteorology /Climate Science /Oceanography / Physics / Mathematics / or Equivalent).
  2. Candidates with NET or GATE are preferable.
  3. Working experience in Atmospheric mesoscale models, land surface model, Unix or Linux environment and software like Python/ MatLab/ NCL, etc.
Fellowship

Rs. 31000/- per month 1st and 2nd year and Rs. 35000/- per month in 3rd year. HRA as applicable if it stays outside campus.

Applications are invited on prescribed format for the temporary post of “Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/ Senior Research Fellow (SRF)” for the Project entitled “In-silico Studies of Structural Diversity of Glycosaminoglycans and their Interactions with Protein.” Selected candidate may enroll in a Ph.D. Programme in the Department of Chemistry, National Institute of Technology Rourkela based on Institute norms and regulations.

Project Title

In-silico Studies of Structural Diversity of Glycosaminoglycans and their Interactions with Protein.

Job Role

Computational research work (Molecular Docking and Molecular dynamics simulation to study ProteinGlycan interactions) related to the project. The candidate may register for Ph.D. at NIT Rourkela.

Qualifications
  1. M.Sc. in Chemistry/ Physics or M. Pharm with 65 % marks or above.
  2. For SRF, in addition to the above, at least 2 years of research experience in the field of Computational Chemistry/Computer-aided drug design is needed.
Fellowship

Rs. 31,000 /- (JRF) and Rs. 35,000 /- (SRF) per month.
