Applications are invited for JRF (Life Sciences) Under DBT Funded Project at NIMHANS Bengaluru for the year 2021. The last date of application is 28 August.
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for filling up of the post of a “Junior Research Fellow (JRF”) on contract basis for the Wellcome Trust -DBT India Alliance project titled “Analysis of Mitochondrial Alterations in Glioblastoma Cells derived from Primary Culture” under Dr. Shilpa Rao, Assistant Professor (contract), Department of Neuropathology and Principal Investigator.
- Educational Qualification: Postgraduate degree in life sciences/ basic science
- Desirable Qualification: One year experience in molecular biology, Experience/ exposure in cell culture.
- Maximum Age Limit: Below 35 years
4 years. Initial appointment will be for 6 months which will be extendable depending on satisfactory performance.
The project involves cell culture work of tumor tissue derived from glioblastoma patients along with immunohistochemistry, PCR
and sequencing, western blotting, mitochondrial experiments and gamma irradiation.
The JRF will work in the Neurooncology laboratory, under the department of Neuropathology. The JRF should collect samples from the operation theatres, process the samples and carry out the above-mentioned molecular and cell culture experiments. The JRF should also assist in carrying out diagnostic molecular testing of brain tumors.
