Applications are invited for JRF (Civil Engineering) Under DST- SERB Funded Project at IIT Indore for the year 2021. The last date of application is 13 August.
Applications are invited from highly motivated candidates for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in a DSTSERB funded research project entitled, “Mass balance and dynamic investigations on Drang Drung Glacier in Zanskar Himalaya” at Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Indore. The major objective of this project is to develop the understanding of climate-glacier interactions in the Zanskar Himalaya.
- Master degree in Engineering: Hydrology, Water Resources, Remote Sensing, Geosciences or equivalent branches, OR
- Master degree in basic sciences: Earth Sciences, Hydrology, Environmental Science or equivalent branches with NET qualification, OR
- Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering with a valid GATE score.
Desirable Qualification: Candidates having experience in GIS and programming (Python, MATLAB etc.) are encouraged to apply. JRF is expected to perform fieldwork on the glacier (around 1 month every year) therefore should have a good level of physical fitness.
Initial appointment will be for six months, which is extendable up to end of the project (Dec 2014) based on performance. Selected candidate may be considered for admission to PhD program at IIT Indore as a regular full-time scholar, depending on the eligibility criteria at IIT Indore.

Incomplete applications will be rejected. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview on 10 AM August 14, 2021. Selected candidates will be intimated by email for interview (online or offline). No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.
The amount of JRF fellowship will be as per DST norms.
