About

Walk-in-interview for the following posts to be filled up on a purely temporary or contractual basis under ICMRNCDIR funded project entitled “Monitoring survey of cancer risk factors and health system response in North East Region (NER)”. The primary objective of the survey is to generate key cancer and other NCD related risk factors and health system response indicators in all the 12 Population-based cancer registries (PBCRs) of the eight states in Northeastern region of India. The study will be conducted in selected rural and urban areas of Kamrup, Cachar, Karimganj, Hailakandi and Dima Hasao districts in the state of Assam.

1. Scientific B (Medical)
  • No. of Posts: 01
  • Essential Qualifications: MBBS / BDS / BAMS from a recognized university with one-year research/ teaching experience OR BDS / BAMS / BVSc from a recognized university with two years research/teaching experience OR MPH / MD in Community Medicine / Public health from a recognized university
  • Desirable Qualifications:
    • One-year research experience in community studies.
    • Knowledge of computer applications and data management.
  • Age Limit: 35 years. Age relaxation is admissible as per ICMR Guidelines.
  • Consolidated Salary: Rs 63,625/- per month
  • Tenure: 8 months
  • Core Responsibilities:
    • Management of human resources and supervision of project-related activities.
    • Day to day monitoring of project activities
    • Planning logistics of the study
    • Problem-solving and team coordination
    • Preparation of communication materials(reports)
    • Ensuring data safety and quality control
    • Financial record-keeping
    • Ensure data quality
    • Should be ready to travel for a minimum of 10-15 days per month within the states
2. Project Technical Officer (Medical Social Worker / Social Worker / Sr. Investigator)
  • No. of Posts: 02
  • Essential Qualifications: Graduate in Social Work / Sociology / Statistics or equivalent subjects from a recognized university with five years work experience from a recognized institution in public health / Medical social work or Master’s degree in the above-mentioned subjects.
  • Desirable Qualifications: One-year working experience in fieldwork. Knowledge of computer applications and data management
  • Age Limit: 30 years.
  • Consolidated Salary: Rs 32,000/- per month
  • Tenure: 8 months
  • Core Responsibilities: Day to day field activities- Mapping and listing of households in study areas, conducting interviews and camps for biochemical investigations. Team responsibility and Should be ready to travel for a minimum of 20-25 days per month within the state.
3. Project Technician-III(Lab Technician)
  • No. of Posts: 01
  • Essential Qualifications: 12th pass in science subjects and two years diploma in medical laboratory technician or related subject or one year DMLT plus one year in a recognized organization or two years of field/laboratory experience.
  • Desirable Qualifications:
    • Three years’ degree in Life Sciences
    • One-year experience in field work
    • Experience in specimen collection (blood) and handling; Knowledge of computer applications and data management.
  • Age: 30 years. Age relaxation is permissible as per ICMR guidelines
  • Consolidated Salary: Rs 18,000/- p.m.
  • Tenure: 8 months
  • Core Responsibilities:
    • Day to day field activity implementation
    • Assist in mapping and listing of households
    • Transport of study equipment
    • Assist MSW in data collection/anthropometry
    • Biochemical sample collection and estimation for blood glucose
    • Should be ready to travel for a minimum of 20-25 days per month within the states
4. Project Technician III (Field Worker)
  • No. of Posts: 01
  • Essential Qualifications: 12th pass in science subjects or two years of field.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Three years’ degree in Life Sciences. Or one-year experience in field work and Knowledge of computer applications and data management
  • Age: 30 years. Age relaxation is permissible as per ICMR guidelines
  • Consolidated Salary: Rs 18,000/- p.m.
  • Tenure: 8 months
  • Core responsibilities:
    • Day to day field activity implementation
    • Assist in mapping and listing of households
    • Transport of study equipment
    • Assist MSW in data collection / anthropometry / other field activities.
    • Should be ready to travel for a minimum of 20-25 days per month within the state.

Candidates are required to carry all the relevant documents related to age, educational qualification, caste, experience etc,. (HSLC onwards) and two passport size photographs at the time of interview.
