Tata Medical Center, Kolkata invites job applications for the post of Research Assistant in Genomics for the year 2020. In this position, you will work as part of the cancer genomics group at TTCRC. The group works directly with the department of cytogenetics at Tata Medical Center and has close links with Tata Consultancy Services Life Sciences Division.
There are ongoing national and international collaborative studies. It has a dedicated laboratory facility equipped with Illumina, Sanger and Nanopore sequencers and is an internationally accredited centre for the minimal residual disease detection in childhood ALL. A dedicated informatics supports data analyses.
The group’s work is focussed currently on two cancers, acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and gallbladder cancer where it has taken a targeted and global approach to understand the variations in the cancer genome. Your primary responsibility will be to continue, optimise and extend ongoing work on developing, establishing and maintaining suitable primary cultures from tissue samples. - Minimum required qualifications/experience: MSc in Biological Sciences. Familiarity with DNA and RNA analyses. Familiarity with basic research laboratory protocols, procedures and techniques
