The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun invites application for Walk-in-interview for engaging research personnel for the Project “Conservation of Tigers in North East India” purely on contractual basis for a period of one year.

  • Project Fellow (3 Posts)
    Qualification: Masters’ Degree in Wildlife Science/ Botany/ Zoology/ Forestry/ Life Science/ Geo-informatics/ Remote Sensing & GIS /Biodiversity conservation with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized university.
    DQ: Experience and interest in wildlife research and conservation in North East India. Good command over written and spoken English. Experience in scientific/ popular writing and analytical skills.
    Job description: The study involves carrying out field surveys in Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Nagaland. Assist the project team in day to day activities and functioning of the project both at Headquarters and in the field.
  • Project Assistant (1 Post)
    Qualification: Bachelors’ Degree in any discipline related to Biological Science/Life Science/Ecological Sciences from a recognized university.
    DQ: Experience and interest in wildlife research and conservation in North East India. Good command over written and spoken English. Computer knowledge in Ms Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
    Job description: The study involves carrying out field surveys in Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Nagaland. Assist the project team in day to day activities and functioning of the project both at Headquarters and in the field.
  • Age limit for all the positions is 28 years but age relaxation will be considered as per Government of India norms for reserved category candidates.

Application should be duly filled in the prescribed format, duly signed and should be accompanied by self-attested copies of documents on educational qualifications, research experience, UGC/CSIR/GATE certificate (if any), extracurricular activities, date of birth, mark sheets of all examinations, community certificate (if sought relaxation as per Government of India rules), etc.

Interview

The candidate should report at Wildlife Institute of India (WII), Chandrabani, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, with original application and documents for scrutiny of documents at 0930 hrs on 25 October 2019 followed by Written Examination on the same day at 1030 hours. Result of the written exam would be announced at 1300 hours and shortlisted candidates would be interviewed from 1400 hours onwards.

Salary

The selected candidates for Project Fellow and Project Asst will get a pay of Rs. 25000 + HRA and Rs 20000 respectively.
