IISER Mohali is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellows (JRF’s) in a time-bound sponsored research projects for a temporary period purely on contractual basis.

1. Short-Term Project Student/Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Project Title

Regulation of RNA splicing in Schizosaccharomyces pombe

Vacancy

Project Outline

The project aims to understand the regulation of RNA splicing in the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe. The project would utilize experimental approaches in molecular biology, genetics and biochemistry.

Duration

3 months (extendable up to 6 months after review)

Emoluments

As per DST rules

Essential Qualifications

Masters in any branch of Life Sciences with the good academic record and a minimum of one-year research experience working with the project(s) involving molecular biology, genetics and biochemistry in fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe, with expertise in co-immunoprecipitation and RNA splicing experiments.

IISER Mohali (Department of Biological Sciences) desires to recruit a JRF in the project entitled: Natural variation of plant root development under high-temperature stress in Arabidopsis

Essential Qualifications

M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Life Sciences (preferably in Botany or Plant Biotechnology) with minimum 65% marks. Candidates should have qualified any of the national tests like CSIR-UGC-DBT-ICAR-NET. Practical research experience in plant genetics and physiology, plant molecular biology, bioinformatics, image analysis and biochemistry is desirable. Prior research experience of at least 6 months in performing all of the following techniques: Plant tissue culture, Cloning, Agrobacterium-mediated Plant Transformation, Yeast-two hybrid screening is necessary.

Emoluments

Emoluments as per DST norms and as sanctioned in the project.
