JOB POST: Junior Research Fellows and Research Associate at ICAR-IARI, New Delhi [3 Vacancies]: Walk in Interview on Jan 16, 2020

About

The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), commonly known as the Pusa Institute, is India’s National Institute for agricultural research, education and extension. The name Pusa Institute is derived from the fact that the institute was originally located in Pusa Bihar as the Imperial Institute of Agricultural Research in 1911.
It was then renamed as the Imperial Agricultural Research Institute in 1919 and following a major earthquake in Pusa, it was relocated to Delhi in 1936. The current institute in Delhi is financed and administered by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The IARI was responsible for the research leading to the “Green Revolution in India” of the 1970s.
Walk-in-interview will be held at CCUBGA (Near B. P. Pal Auditorium), Division of Microbiology, ICAR- Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi-110012 to recruit outstanding personnel for the designated posts to work under DBT, CSIR and in NASF projects.

Post Details

1. Junior Research Fellow
  • Name of Project: DBT-TERI Centre of Excellence project on Integrated production of Advanced Biofuels and Bio commodities (Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India)
  • No. of Posts: 01
  • Qualifications: Minimum 60% marks: Master’s degree in Microbiology/Life Sciences/Biotechnology or M. Tech Biotechnology with 4 years/5 years of Bachelor’s degree or candidates having Post Graduate degree in Basic Science with 3 years Bachelor’s degree and 2 years Master’s degree, should have qualified UGC/CSIR/ICAR-NET/GATE or Ph. D. in relevant discipline.
  • Emoluments: Rs.25000+ 30% HRA (Pre-revised)
2. Research Associate
  • Name of Project: Proteomic profiling of the salinity induced responses in the cyanobionts of different species of Azolla (Council of Scientific& Industrial Research, Govt. of India)
  • No. of Posts: 01
  • Qualifications: PhD in Microbiology/Biotechnology.
  • Emoluments: Rs.47000/PM and HRA as per CSIR rules.
3. Junior Research Fellow
  • Name of Project: Production and Processing of Microalgal Biomass for Biodiesel and other Industrially Important Co-Products: An Algal Refinery Approach (National Agricultural Science Fund, NASF, Govt. of India)
  • No. of Posts: 01
  • Qualifications: Minimum 60% marks: Master’s degree in Microbiology/ Biotechnology or M. Tech Biotechnology with 4 years/5 years of Bachelor’s degree or candidates having Post Graduate degree in Basic Science with 3 years Bachelor’s degree and 2 years Master’s degree, should have qualified UGC/CSIR/ICAR-NET/GATE or Ph. D. in relevant discipline.
  • Emoluments: Rs. 25000+ 30% HRA for first and second year, Rs.28000+ 30% HRA for third year (Pre-revised)

Age Limit

The upper age limit is 35 years; relaxation to SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex-Serviceman/Women as per the Govt. of India instructions.

Duration

Initially, the period of engagement will be for one year, and continuation will depend upon progress reviewed every six months by Principal Investigators.

How to Attend?

  • All eligible candidates can attend the interview on Jan 16, 2020, and need to submit self-attested copies of certificates along with the application and a brief of research work done vis-à-vis publications in peer-reviewed journals during post-graduation & present employment and two passport size photographs
  • Applicant must bring with them original documents at the time of interview for verification. Applicants with minimum eligibility need to appear for interview.
