Bose Institute (Basu Bigyan Mandir) is a premier research institute of India and also one of its oldest. The Institute was established in 1917 by Acharya Sir Jagdish Chandra Bose, the founder of modern scientific research in India. Sir JC Bose was its Director for the first twenty years until his demise. Debendra Mohan Bose, who succeeded Nobel Laureate Sir CV Raman as the Palit Professor of Physics at the University of Calcutta, was the Director of Bose Institute for the next thirty years.
Bose Institute, Kolkata, invites application from the Indian Citizens for one (01) temporary position of Junior Research Fellow in the CSIR sponsored project entitled “Deciphering the involvement of programmed cell death in the pathogenic development of Ustilago maydis” under the guidance of Dr Anupama Ghosh, Division of Plant Biology. The project is tenable up to 31.08.2022 and the position is co-terminus with the project.
M.Sc. / M.Tech. degree in Life Sciences with NET* qualification. (Preferable: Candidates with B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Genetics or Biotechnology)
Below 28 years as on the day on which the application is made. (relaxable in case of SC/ST/OBC/Women candidates only as per rules)
Rs. 31,000/- p.m. plus admissible HRA.
