G.B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment & Sustainable Development (formerly known as G.B. Pant Institute of Himalayan Environment & Development) was established in 1988-89, during the birth centenary year of Bharat Ratna Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant, as an autonomous Institute of the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Govt. of India, which has been identified as a focal agency to advance scientific knowledge, to evolve integrated management strategies, demonstrate their efficacy for conservation of natural resources, and to ensure environmentally sound development in the entire Indian Himalayan Region (IHR).

Walk-In-Interview will be conducted for the position of Himalayan Research Associate under Mountain Division projects at Kosi-Katarmal (Almora) campus of the Institute. It is purely project-based temporary positions.

Essential Qualification

M.Tech in relevant branch of engineering/RS & GIS/Geo technology /Engineering Geology with 3-year experience in research/Technology/modelling/ development Or PhD Geography/Geology/Physics/ Environmental Science with RS & GIS/ any other relevant subject.

Desirable Qualification

Working experience in the following subject areas in the Indian Himalayan states. Experience of RS & GIS.

Nature of Duties & responsibilities

Field research across IHR Compilation of secondary information, data analysis, synthesis and report writing, presentation in the reviewers/others, field interactions & coordination of project activities in 12 IHR states.

Age Limit

The age limit for the post is 35 Years. Relaxation for SC/ST/Women/PH and OBC as per Govt. of India norms.

Monthly Salary

Rs. 47,000/Month + HRA as per norms
