Indian Road Safety Campaign, an initiative by the students and alumni of IIT Delhi, with the aim to reduce the number of deaths happening due to road accidents to half by 2020, invite you to be a part of the ” iSAFE: The Safer India Challenge’18 “ that is being organised by Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in collaboration with IRSC, which is a 9-month long road-safety school championship with an aim to reduce the number of deaths happening across India due to road-accidents!

 

About iSAFE, The Safer India Challenge

School championship is an annual championship that is being conducted for all the schools of India by Indian Road Safety Campaign & Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, wherein, we formulate a well-designed category system of various class groups, ensuring that the activities for each class group are innovative, creative as well as motivating. Keeping that in mind, students will be engaged in road-related activities in the complete guidance of their teachers.

The championship for the schools is designed in such a way that it is adaptive to the school environment system and covers all aspects of road-safety relating a school.

To highlight, iSAFE’18 was marked open by the Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari at Vigyan Bhawan during the launch of the 29th National Road Safety Week on 23rd April‘2018.

Vision for iSAFE’18

This year, iSAFE’18 is expected to have the participation of more than 1500+ colleges and 2000+ schools across India. Youth and children from 1000+ cities would be working on technical innovations, cultural initiatives, spreading awareness, law and medical aspect of road safety by conducting various types of activities over the 9 months leading to the development of sustainable solutions and behavioral change developed on basis of key impact measurement models.

All these activities will be accompanied with 12+ mega-events happening at premier locations in different cities like Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi etc. in collaboration with respective State governments and Transport Departments/Traffic police.

This championship is open for school and college students.

About College Championship | iSAFE’18:

iSAFE`18 college championship is an annual competition that is being conducted for all the colleges in India wherein college students participate and conduct many diverse, innovative and creative indulging activities with the theme as road-safety to enable them to make a Safer India at the same time earning accolades!

The students can take part in the challenge across the 5 domains as follows:

  1. Technical Domain: This domain is for students who are pursuing their graduation or post-graduation in either an engineering college or B.Sc/M.Sc college(Physics, Information Technology etc.).
  2. Medical Domain: This domain is for students who are pursuing their graduation or post-graduation in either a Medical college or B.Sc/M.Sc college(Zoology, Botany etc.).
  3. Law Domain: This domain is for students who are pursuing their graduation or post-graduation in a Law College.
  4. Mass Communication and Media Domain: This domain is for students who are pursuing their graduation or post-graduation in mass media and communication, journalism or arts.
  5. Awareness Domain: This domain is for students who are pursuing their graduation or post-graduation in BBA/MBA, B.Com/M.com or miscellaneous.

Top Performers at the championship would get a chance to:

  1. Get Prizes worth 25 Lakhs+ for the various top performing colleges and schools!

Who is eligible?

If you are a school student  and college student in India pursuing a  undergraduate or post-graduate course, you are eligible to participate in the iSAFE-18: The Safer India Challenge’18 . You can participate in teams of 4 to up to 50 members.

This championship is open to all nationalities and there are no fees to register.

Only if we all, realize the importance to be Safe on Roads and each one us takes it upon ourselves to work for the vision of Safer India, will we be able to bring down the number of lives being lost on Indian roads!  It would be humble enough on your part if you could share this opportunity with other students at your prestigious institution. Your participation will definitely help to make a safer India!
