Oxfam is marking its 68th year in India this year. Oxfam India is part of network of 21 Oxfams that fight poverty and injustice by linking grassroots programming (through partner NGOs) to local, national and global advocacy and policy-making.
Objectives of the Internship:
- Enhance the educational experience of the graduate/post-graduate student through practical and guided hands-on exposure research to the areas of inequality.
- Provide exposure to the working and activities of Oxfam in its Global Campaign on inequality.
Graduates/post-graduates with some basic knowledge of socio-economic databases in India will be preferred. Proficient in quantitative skills is necessary. Economics/Statistics background preferred.
Under the direct supervision of the Research Manager/Coordinator, the intern is expected to perform the following tasks:
- Compiling relevant information through literature survey and doing data work for the India specific report, which will be prepared in line with the Global Davos report 2019.
- Literature review, data analysis and secondary research for supporting Research Manager/ Coordinator for media response in time of the report launch.
The intern will work for 3 months – December 2018 to February 2019.
Expenses/Cost: Oxfam India will incur NO costs for this internship.
