IDFC Institute has been set up as a research-focused think / do tank by IDFC Ltd to investigate the political, economic and spatial dimensions of India’s ongoing transition from a low-income state-led country to a prosperous market-based economy.
Broadly, it supports the notion of well–regulated free markets, and support inquiry into practices that result in greater, more efficient and equitable development.
IDFC Institute has a competitive internship programme where it inducts dynamic young individuals to work on issues of political economy and development.
Internships can be either part-time or full-time and give individuals the opportunity to work with research teams across several projects and gain hands on experience.
The Programme, since its inception in 2014, has seen many bright young minds being inducted from Business Management, Law and Social Sciences backgrounds, most of whom have gone on to pursue their higher studies at some of the leading international universities.

Internships are typically awarded to individuals who have completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics or other related Social sciences, or are enrolled into a Master’s programme.
Promising undergraduates will be considered on a case by case basis.
