Indian Young Physicists League (IYPL) by IAPS: Apply by March 24: Expired

About the Organiser

Association of Indian Physics Students (AIPS) is a group of Indian physics students spanning across the country, from undergraduates to researchers, interested in promoting collaboration between physics students to encourage collective learning and growth.

Being the first independent student-based organization for aspiring physicists in India, we represent all physics students from the country as the National Committee, India of the International Association of Physics Students (IAPS). Currently, we have 100 members from 16 cities spanning 7 states. Our prime objectives are scientific advocacy, science education, and outreach.

About the Event

Indian Young Physicists League (IYPL) is a national theoretical physics competition in which teams will answer challenging theoretical physics questions, designed to both challenges and entertain them.

IYPL will also be recognised as the national preliminary for PLANCKS (Physics League Across Numerous Countries for Kickass Students), a prestigious annual international competition organised by IAPS that follows a similar format. The IYPL winning team will represent India at PLANCKS 2021 which will be held online on May 6-9.

Their members get the ability to attend member-only conferences and events, get grants for organizing their own events, and access to an international network full of opportunities and resources.
To join their organization as a local committee representing physics students in a city or as an individual member, click here.

  • Participation is allowed only in teams of 3-4 people who all are a bachelor or master students pursuing physics or a similar subject of whom at least 50% of the team is enrolled in a university in India.
  • However, you do not need to be a member of AIPS to participate. Anyone can participate on the condition that if they do win then they will need to register as a member of AIPS to be eligible for PLANCKS. Also, all team members do not have to be from the same college.
