JOB POST: Junior Research Fellows @ IIT Ropar [Stipend Rs. 31K/Month]: Multiple Deadlines

Junior research fellowIIT Ropar invites applications from Indian nationals to work as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in multiple DST Funded research projects.

1. Project Title: Quantum gate and generation of non-classical states using spin chain at the metal-dielectric interface.

Duration:

3 years.

Qualifications:
  • M.Sc. in Physics with at least 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale or 60% marks and having qualified either the NET (CSIR/UGC) or GATE.
  • Outstanding candidates without NET(CSIR/UGC)/GATE qualification may also be considered as per DST rules on a reduced fellowship. Shortlisted applicants will
    be called to appear for an interview.
Emoluments:

For the candidates with NET (CSIR/UGC) or GATE qualification:

  • I & II year – Rs 31,000/- per month.
  • III year – Rs 35,000/- per month.

2. Project title: Propagation and attenuation of shear waves inducing high strains in jointed rocks.

Duration:

Initially for a period of one year.

Emoluments:

Rs. 31,000 (p.m. consolidated).

Qualifications:
  • M.Tech/M.E. or equivalent with specialization in Geotechnical Engineering or similar areas with 60% marks (or 6.5 grade point out of 10) selected through (i) GATE (ii) selection process through national level examinations conducted by central government departments and their agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Hands on experience in numerical modeling.

3. Project Title: Design and development of miniaturized cost-effective antennas for the Internet of Things and 5G technology.

Duration:

Initially for a period of one year. Maybe extended further based on performance.

Emoluments:

As per DST rules.

Qualifications:
  • B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification with 60% marks (or 6.5-grade point out of 10) and a valid GATE score. This is over and top of the eligibility requirements as per rules laid down by the DST.
  • Candidates with M.Tech./M.E./M.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree with 60% marks (or 6.5-grade point out of 10). This is over and top of the eligibility requirements as per rules laid down by the DST.
  • Desirable: Applicants having research/industry experience in the field of Antenna Engineering would be preferred.

4. Project Title: Development of Porous Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) for Catalytic Conversion of Carbon dioxide to Fine chemicals.

Qualifications:

Masters or equivalent degree in Chemistry/Materials Science with minimum 60% marks (or 6.5 grades point out of 10) or (55% marks for SC/ST) and must have qualified GATE or UGC/CSIR-NET.

Emoluments:

As per DST norms (JRF fellowship shall be Rs.31000/- per month for first two years and Rs.35000/- per month for third year onwards).

Duration of the Project:

3 years
