The Department of Chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee invites applications from outstanding and enthusiastic researchers for the postdoctoral position under the mentorship of Dr. Ravindra Pandey focused on “Probing the Complex Mechanism of pH-low Insertion Peptides in a Model Cell Membranes Using Sum Frequency Generation Spectroscopy”.
Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, formerly University of Roorkee and Thomason College of Civil Engineering, is a public technical and research university located in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India.
- Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry/ Physics with experience of Laser Spectroscopy, MATLAB, and LabVIEW.
- Candidates who have recently submitted their thesis are also eligible to apply subject to the condition that they will furnish the proof of the award of Ph.D. degree at the time of interview at IIT Roorkee if shortlisted.
- However, the preference will be given to the candidate having prior postdoctoral experience.
- The prospective candidate is expected to have a strong background in the area of Physical Chemistry and will explore the complex protein-membrane interactions using interface-specific sum-frequency generation spectroscopy.
The fellow will receive a consolidated fellowship as below in addition to the contingency grant of Rs. 50,000/-per annum. Fellowship for the first two years: Rs. 55,000/- per month and for the third year: Rs. 60,000/- per month.
