1. Junior Research Fellow/ Senior Research Fellow (01)

Applications are invited from the Indian Citizens for Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/Senior Research Fellow (SRF) position in the DST (Technology Mission Division) sponsored INDO-UK project entitled, “The development and implementation of sensors and treatment technologies for freshwater systems in India” under the guidance of Prof. Tapas K. Sengupta, Department of Biological Sciences.

Qualifications

For JRF
Masters degree in any branch of Biological Sciences with NET qualification. Good communication skills
For SRF
Masters degree in any branch of Biological Sciences with NET qualification and two years of research experience in the field of Microbiology (Molecular microbiology and/or Bioremediation). Good communication skills.

Salary

JRF: Rs. 31,000/- p.m plus admissible H.R.A/ SRF: Rs 35,000/- p.m., plus admissible H.R.A.

2. Junior Research Fellow (01)

A position for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) is available in the research group of Dr. Amlan K. Roy, Associate Professor, Dept. of Chemical Sciences, IISER Kolkata. The research work involves knowledge in Quantum Chemistry and/ or Quantum Physics and the use of computer programming.

Project Title

Information-theoretic measures and complexity under free and confinement situations within DFT: some model and many-electron systems.

Qualifications
  • Highly motivated candidates interested in Theoretical Chemistry/ physics, with M.Sc. in Chemistry/ Physics/ Mathematics (minimum 55% marks in M.Sc). Preference will be given to NET/ GATE/ INSPIRE/ JEST qualified candidates.
  • Candidates should have a strong theoretical background (with knowledge on quantum mechanics/ chemistry) and would be expected to carry out theoretical development on Density Functional Theory (DFT).
  • Exposure to Linux and computer programming will also be helpful.
Salary

JRF: Rs. 31,000/- p.m plus admissible H.R.A/ SRF: Rs 35,000/- p.m., plus admissible H.R.A.
