Indian Council of Agricultural Research Entrance Exams for PhD, PG & UG Courses [June 22, 23]: Apply by May 31: Expired

All India Entrance Examinations for Admission – 2018

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is an apex body for coordinating, guiding, and managing research and education in agriculture in the entire country under the aegis of DARE, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare , Govt. Of India.

Undergraduate Degree Programmes (UG) 

ICAR has been able to foster a countrywide arrangement with the AUs to set aside 15% of their seats for Bachelor degree programmes to be admitted through ICAR’s All India Entrance Examination so as to reduce academic inbreeding, increase mobility among students, encourage national integration and infuse merit and uniform examination standards leading to improved overall quality of higher agricultural education.
Accordingly, ICAR conducts All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA) to Bachelor degree programmes in agriculture and allied subjects (other than veterinary sciences), at Agricultural Universities on 15% of the University seats (except RLB CAU Jhansi, NDRI Karnal and Dr. RP CAU Pusa, Bihar where 100% seats will be filledup) every year.
National Talent Scholarship (NTS) of Rs.2000/- per month are awarded based on the AIEEA-UG examination to all those candidates who take admission outside their state of domicile. Further, not more than 40% candidates from any one state are admitted in any agricultural university/subject. There is no provision of direct nomination for admission through ICAR in any Master degree programme without qualifying in this examination.
Eligibility
Candidate must have passed 10+2 Senior Secondary Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education or any other examination within scope and standard found to be equivalent to the Senior Secondary Examination of a recognised  Indian Board/university (Annexure-VII) after a period of 12 years of study. The medium of instruction in the admitting University will be English.

Postgraduate Degree Programmes (PG)

ICAR’s 23rd AIEEA-PG-2018 examination for the academic session 2018-19 will be conducted through Online Computer Based Test at specified centers spread across the country enabling participation of a large number of candidates seeking admission in Master degree programmes in AUs in different disciplines of Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Veterinary, Animal Sciences, Agri. Engineering, Community Science (erstwhile Home Science), Fisheries, Dairy Science and other allied sciences.
ICAR PG Scholarships for postgraduate studies will be awarded to 475 candidates based on merit in this examination as per their overall merit-rank and seat availability in different disciplines. The remaining admitted students will be awarded NTS (PGS).
Candidates qualified for counseling will be considered for allocation of subject and the Agricultural University as per online counseling. There is no provision of direct nomination for admission through ICAR in any Master degree programme without qualifying in this examination.
Eligibility
The candidate must have passed Bachelor degree examination securing Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) of at least 6.60/10.00 in ten-point scale, 3.25/5.00 in five-point scale, 2.60/4.00 in four-point scale for General, OBC and UPS categories whereas for SC/ST/Physically Challenged (PC) candidates, the said requirement is an OGPA of at least 5.60/10.00, 2.75/5.00, 2.20/4.00, respectively.
In other cases, where grade-points are not awarded and only marks are awarded, the candidate must have secured at least 60% marks for General, OBC and UPS categories, whereas for SC/ST/PC categories the requirement is 50% marks.

Ph.D. Degree Programmes

The ICAR has been conducting the All India Competitive Examination for the award of 202 ICAR’s Senior Research Fellowship [AICE-SRF(PGS)], to pursue Ph.D. degree programmes in the universities under ICAR-AU system.
Eligibility
Indian nationals having passed Master’s Degree programme securing an Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) of at least 6.50/10.00 scale, 3.25/5.00 scale, 2.60/4.00 scale for General, OBC (NCL) and UPS Categories and 5.50/10.00, 2.75/5.00, 2.20/4.00 scale for SC/ST/Physically Challenged (PC) categories, respectively from any recognized University in India and abroad would be eligible.
In other cases, where grade-points are not awarded and only marks are awarded, the candidate must have secured at least 60% marks for General, OBC (NCL) and UPS category. For SC/ST/PC candidates, the minimum percentage of marks will be 50%.
