The Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) announces a Fellowship in the memory of Shri Devendra Swaroop to study “Bhartiya Gyan Parampara” (Indian Knowledge Tradition). The Fellowship will be for a period of two years.

Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, New Delhi is a premier government-funded arts organization in India. It is an autonomous institute under the Union Ministry of Culture. It was established in the memory of Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, with Kapila Vatsyayan as its founding director.

Essential Educational Qualifications

Masters of Arts in History/Sanskrit/ Philosophy

Essential Experience

Minimum 3 years research experience working with an Institution conducting Research in similar field or Published work of High Standard (at least 5 Papers in reputed Research Journals on the subject)

Job Responsibilities

To Study Bhartiya Gyan Parampara (Indian Knowledge Tradition) and Literature & Publication of Shri Devnedra Swaroop. The Fellow will be required to work full time in IGNCA and to submit detailed reports/publications in a time-frame.


Rs. 50,000/- per month

Age Limit

Maximum 40 years as on last date of receipt of applications

How to Apply?
  • The Eligible Candidates may apply for the above Fellowship by submitting a Curriculum Vitae, providing therein complete details about their age, educational yyy qualifications, experience, copies of 5 Research Papers, along with write-up of 2000 words in Hindi or English on the topic “भारतीय ज्ञान परम्परा की अवधारणा एवं महत्व” – “The Concept of Indian Knowledge Tradition and its Importance”.
  • Note that soft copy of the aforesaid Write-up in 2000 words must also be sent on email ids : The applications should be sent by Speed Post or submitted in person to “AFA & AO(KN), Kala Nidhi Division, Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, 11, Mansingh Road, New Delhi-110011” on or before 15th January, 2021.
  • Applications will be evaluated by a high powered Committee and decision will be taken on the basis of its recommendations.
  • The IGNCA reserves the right to accept or reject any or all applications without assigning any reasons. The decision of the IGNCA regarding selection and/or engagement shall be final and binding.
