The Department of Chemical Engineering, National Institute of Technology (NIT), Andhra Pradesh is organizing an Online Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Recent Developments on Recent Innovations & Developments in Membrane Technology from October 26 to 30, 2020.
National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh is an institute of national importance established by the Government of India in 2015 in the state of Andhra Pradesh, located at Tadepalligudem, West Godavari District. The Institute started functioning from its permanent campus, which is spread over 178 acres.
The institute offers B.Tech., M.Tech., M.S. (by Research) programs in various engineering disciplines and Ph D. program in Engineering, School of Sciences and School of Humanities and Management.
Being a versatile, energy-efficient, and cost-effective separation technique, Membrane Technology has rapidly progressed in the last few decades. It contributes the process industries with novel methods of separation for purification, effluent control, water reuse, and recovery of valuable components in applications ranging from chemical/ petrochemical to environmental and biotechnology.
Consecutively, the membrane technology leads to address the grand societal challenges of energy, water, food, health, and climate change, i.e. sustainability. Therefore, instruction in membrane technology is an important aspect of Chemical, Environmental, Biomedical, Mechanical and Materials Science and Engineering curriculum at various levels in the area of the separation.
This program aims to present recent innovations and developments in the field of Membrane Technology.
- Low-Cost Tubular Ceramic Membranes for Wastewater Treatment
- Novel Polymeric Membranes for Application in Microbial Fuel Cell
- Design of Membranes for Mitigation of Covid-19 and Water-Borne Diseases
- Separation of liquid mixtures by Pervaporation – Challenges and Opportunities
- Hybrid Membrane Systems for the Removal of Micropollutants
