About Environment Model United Nations
A MUN or Model United Nations is a simulation of the actual proceedings of the UN with an aim to educate and make the participants aware of the UN and its working, as well as the socially, politically and environmentally relevant issues pertaining to the world.
Students pose as the delegates of various countries and debate and discuss topics which are of prime importance to the society and the world.
Moreover, a MUN is the best platform to showcase your communication skills or to work on them, because a MUN opens up a plethora of opportunities to meet and converse with people. It opens up a multitude of options and solutions which maybe simple at a glance but has a powerful impact.
EnviroMUN is the first of its kind, being held to make the participants aware of the pressing problems of nature. It is a new attempt at engaging young minds with global environmental challenges like climate change and encouraging them to think at the global level.
EnviroMUN will push the delegates to think outside of the box and instigate them to come up with creative solutions and will also instil a sense of commitment to carry out sustainable youth project. After all, it is high time that the youth shouldered the responsibility of “making the world a better place” and the environment is at the top of the list.
The EnviroMUN is being organised by RCE, Trivandrum, in association with Bhoomitrasena, the environment club of the College of Engineering, Trivandrum (CET). The MUN is scheduled to happen on the 2nd and 3rd of June in the CET campus.
