About Light Up (EMF)

Light Up (EMF) is a non-profit organisation based in Delhi/NCR that advocates about the decoding of Emotional Intelligence. They aim at building emotional resilience in communities through Social and Emotional Learning Programs. They currently run 12 programs across the region in low income and high-risk communities and have impacted 7000+ beneficiaries.

About the Fellowship

The Light Up- Emotions Matter Foundation has launched its second batch of the Emotions Matter Fellowship (2020-2021).

This fellowship aims to provide an opportunity to co-facilitate the process by contributing towards the development of socio-emotional skills and the prevention of behavioural challenges in children that often lead to the early onset of mental health complications.

Applications are open for the following roles:

  • Research Fellow
  • Teaching Fellow
  • Campaign Fellow
Responsibilities
  • Research Fellow 
    • Contribute to learning and teaching programmes within and outside the organisation 
    • Develop research objectives, projects and proposals 
    • Submit a paper on relevant subject by the end of Fellowship 
    • Assess, interpret and evaluate outcomes of research 
    • Produce reports on various subjects relevant to the organisation
  • Teaching Fellow 
    • Deliver our SEL curriculum in different Projects 
    • To lecture and lead teaching by developing and applying innovative and appropriate teaching techniques which create interest, understanding and enthusiasm amongst students 
    • Facilitate on-going curriculum review including module content and materials and contribute to learning and teaching strategy 
    • Documentation and a range of administrative responsibilities
  • Campaign Fellow 
    • Handling profiles of individual students 
    • Management and mapping of opportunities for the students 
    • Skilling and up-skilling the students child through collaborations 
    • Communication with partner organisations 
Requirements

Education: 

  • Graduate from a recognised university in Education, Management or Arts 
  • Ongoing degree from a recognised university in Education, Management or Arts

Skills: 

  • Prior experience of working in a community setting with students 
  • Creative approach to integrate SEL strategies in a classroom setting in multiple appealing formats 
  • Strong communication(reading and writing) skills with fluency in English and Hindi 
  • Zeal and enthusiasm to learn and take on new challenges 

Research Fellow: 

  • Prior experience in research and report writing 
  • Good writing skills 
  • Research and reasoning oriented mindset 
  • Understanding and developing of new ways in research 

Teaching Fellow: 

  • Creative approach to integrate SEL strategies in a classroom setting in multiple appealing formats 
  • Understanding of different teaching pedagogies 
  • Prior experience in content delivery and facilitation in a classroom setting 

Campaign Fellow: 

  • Proficiency in handling multiple social media platforms 
  • Creative mindset to develop innovate social media campaigns for students 
  • Prior experience in content creation and media engagement 
  • Knowledge of different livelihood opportunities and government opportunities
