About the Organiser

Shaastra is the annual technical festival of the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IITM). Boasting of a footfall of over 50,000 it is one of India’s largest technical festivals. Shaastra 2020 marks the 20th edition of the festival spanning over 4 days with a plethora of events, workshops, professional shows, exhibitions, lectures, demonstrations, summit and the STeP (Shaastra Technology and policy). With STeP, Shaastra aspires to venture out into a realm yet to be touched by any other tech fest in India by providing a knowledge sharing and a competitive platform for students in the policy and technology field.

About the Event

Shaastra 2020 and STeP bring to you ‘Data-Driven Governance’, a lecture and demonstration by Swaniti Initiative. The demonstration aims to give insight into how data can help policymakers and state governments in better delivery of public services. Participants will get a chance to interact with the co-founder of Swaniti Initiative, which has been instrumental in providing technological
solutions on issues of public service.

Eligibility

The event is open to all undergraduates, post-graduates and professionals of any discipline and public policy enthusiasts.
