Mining is a hazardous occupation. The hazards include roof failure, support failure, slope failure, subsidence, air blast, methane and coal dust explosion, mines fire, inundation, equipment failure, blasting oriented hazards etc. The mining operations have direct implications on the safety, health and well being of the mining personnel and indirectly on the production and productivity of the mines.
Recently mechanization and automation advancement is showing a rising trend right from the mining to the processing areas but at the same time we can not ignore unscientific mining practices in many underground and opencast mines in India and also the present density of accidents.
To provide a safe, disaster less and healthy working environment, maintenance of a higher safety standards in the mines are very urgently necessary in India and it must match the level acceptable internationally. This course shall definitely benefit heavily the total mining community as a whole (For both metal and coal mines).
Status of safety in mining and future scenario, new scientific and modern mining technology both for opencast and underground mining system including various problems, accidents, hazards and their mitigation, safety, safety management system, risk management, adequacy in mining legislations and suggestions, amended legislation, safety in underground and opencast mining equipment, modern blasting techniques, safety in working environment, accidents, disasters etc.
Executives of all mining and allied industries, DGMS, faculty members of universities, institutions, officers of the Government organization, candidates appearing for First and Second class Mines Managership examinations, etc.
Course Fee and Registration
Mining and allied industries, educational institutions, CMPDIL, mining equipment manufacturing companies, DGMS , other Government establishments, etc are requested to send the name of candidates including their designation, email address, mobile no., etc. along with the Course fees of Rs 35000/- per head by demand draft in favour of “CEP-STC, IIT Kharagpur” payable at SBI, Kharagpur, Code 0202. The last date of receipt of nomination cum course fees is 04.12.2020.
