The integration of E-banking platform with legacy systems and the increasing dependence
of bank on third party information service provides, all dramatically amplify the
magnitude of risks to which banks are exposed. Security control needs special attention because of open nature of the Internet and the pace of technological change. Data Mining techniques are widely used in various domains including Cyber Security and
Network Security. This short-term program intended to discuss Data Mining techniques and
Cyber Security associated topics.

Objectives of the Short-Term Program

The aim of this 5 days short-term program is to bring together B.Tech. students/M.Tech. students /Ph.D. research scholars/Faculties/Officers those who want to know about Data Mining Techniques and Cyber Security. This five days short-term program will be a platform for enriching flavor on Data Mining and Cyber Security related concepts.
It would enable the participants to gain a comprehensive understanding of various Data
Mining techniques as well as Cyber Security related issues.

Short-Term Program Content
  • Introduction to Data Mining. Classification Algorithms: Decision Tree, Naive Bayes
    classifier, Neural Networks, K-nearest neighbor Classifier, SVM, Regression Models,
    Ensemble Classifier. Clustering Algorithms: K-means, Hierarchical Clustering, Fuzzy-cmeans, Density Based Clustering. Association Analysis: Frequent Itemset Mining, Frequent Closed Itemset Mining, Frequent Closed Itemset Mining from High Dimensional Data.
  • Introduction to attacks on IP Layer, TCP Layer and Application Layer. Port Scanning
    Techniques using Nmap Tool. Packet sniffing using Wireshark Tool. Firewall and Access
    Control List. Intrusion Detection and Prevention Techniques.
This Short Term program is open to B.Tech./M.Tech.students/Ph.D. research scholars
who are studying in Computer Science & Engineering / Information Technology discipline. Faculties / Scientists / Officers working in Computer Science & Engineering or Information Technology discipline can also attend this program.
Number of participants limited to 30.
