Course on Natural Language Processing at NIT Rourkela [Dec 2-11]: Register by Nov 1: Expired

About

The computational linguistics industry is booming like a hot cake. Language and Speech processing enabled technologies are nowadays embedded in every smart device. In recent years there has been a huge amount of interest and work from the research community on the use of Natural Language Processing (NLP). In this course, starting from basics to the latest concepts, expert lectures will be delivered by researchers in this field. NLP plays an important role in text and speech processing.

Speech Processing is a scientific discipline as well as a technology frontier with immense applications. As a scientific discipline, it has a long history and as a technology area, it is intensively explored both by industry and academia. On one side of the spectrum is the speech & language sciences, such as linguistics, phonetics, and psychoacoustics, and on the other side are the signal processing theory and pattern recognition and artificial intelligence.

The aim of the course is to contribute to the cross-fertilization between the research on Machine Learning methods and their applications to Natural Language and Speech Processing.

Eligibility

Faculty members, Research Scholars and PG Scholars from academia and professionals from Industry are eligible for the course. As the program is specifically aimed for Schedule Tribal participants, preference will be given to them first and remaining seats will be filled by others.

How to Apply?

The registration has to be done by preparing a DD which should be drawn in favor of “Director, NIT Rourkela” payable at SBI, NIT Rourkela branch (code: SBIN0002109). The DD should be sent to Dr. Korra Sathya Babu, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE, NIT Rourkela, Odisha, India. 769008. A scanned copy of DD and application can be mailed to prof.ksb@gmail.com for prior intimation.
