The ministry of Drinking Water & Sanitation, GOI, under its strategic plan 2011-2022, has objective to provide all villages with piped supply. In water supply system main components are various structures. Over the years many Design codes related to design of water retaining structures have been revised / updated.
The course will enable the participants to understand fundamentals and enrich their knowledge about the new revised and updated codes for structural design of water retaining. It is proposed to give hand on experience of design of important water retaining structures This will help the participants to improve their teaching, research and design capabilities in these areas.
It is proposed to cover changes introduced in revised IS– 3370, IS–189, IS-875, IS-11682. It is also proposed to discuss ductile detailing of water retaining structures to perform better in earthquake / wind condition. The course contents will be covered through power- point presentations, interactive sessions, group discussions, brain storming sessions, etc. Laboratory classes shall be conducted to provide hands-on experience on software.
Faculty from MNNIT Allahabad and eminent experts from premier institutions/ research organizations IITs, NITs and form industries will deliver lectures.
Who can Attend?
The candidate should have B.E./ B.Tech./ Diploma in any branch of engineering. Preference will be given to the candidates having higher qualifications.
A nominal course fee will be charged from the participants.
