Eligibility
Bachelor’s degree with Psychology as one of the subjects and a Master’s Degree/PG Diploma in Psychology (Minimum 55 %) with at least two years’ post- qualification experience in handling adolescents.
Job description
The Counsellor would render counselling services to all students as required and be available to staff, faculty and residents of llT Gandhinagar. The Counsellor would be the point of contact for students in need of interpersonal/ emotional counseling. He/she must be comfortable working with students from a variety of social and economic backgrounds.
He/she may also be required to work during evenings or /and weekends. The Counsellor will maintain confidentiality but report to Head, Counselling Services or Dean, Student Affairs of any extreme cases that demand Institution/ family intervention. The Counsellor may conduct workshops, talks and group discussions from time to time to help participants with their interpersonal and emotional needs. The Counsellor may also carry out other relevant duties assigned by the Institute.
Duration
On contract basis for 1 year initially, extendable upon satisfactory performance at the sole discretion of IIT Gandhinagar.
