Constitution Day Essay Contest Ministry Law JusticeAbout 

To celebrate the Constitution Day on 26th November 2019 in order to commemorate 70 years of the adoption of the Indian Constitution and also to make people aware about the fundamental duties. The Indian Law Institute, New Delhi in collaboration with the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India, is organising an all-India essay competition.

Ministry of Law & Justice proposes to conduct an Essay contest of the following categories:

Junior:

  • Eligibility: Students up to X
  • Topic: i. Importance of fundamental duties for nation
    ii. Salient features of Indian Constitution
    iii. History of Indian Constitution
  • Word Limit: 800 words
  • Language: English/ Hindi
  • Prizes: 1st: Rs. 8,000
    2nd: Rs. 6,000
    3rd: Rs. 3,000
    20 consolation prizes of Rs. 1,000

Senior:

  • Eligibility: Students of X to XII
  • Topic: i. Role of Citizens in upholding sovereignty, unity and integrity of India
    ii. Our duty to safeguard public property and abjure violence
    iii. Basic Structure of Indian Constitution
  • Word Limit: 1000 words
  • Language: English/ Hindi
  • Prizes: 1st : Rs. 10,000
    2nd : Rs. 8,000
    3rd : Rs. 4,000
    20 consolation prizes of Rs. 1,000

Open:

  • Eligibility: Any person
  • Topic: i. Securing Rights by following duties
    ii. Building New India – Role of Citizens Duties
    iii. Citizen Duties nurturing the spirit of nationalism
  • Word Limit: 1200 words
  • Language: English/ Hindi
  • Prizes: 1st: Rs. 21,000
    2nd: Rs. 11,000
    3rd: Rs. 5,000
    20 consolation prizes of Rs. 1,000

Terms and Conditions

The participant should submit the written entries with the following technical parameters:

  • PDF file format only.
  • Using Text font size 12 among font type either Book Antiqua or Cambria or Times New Roman.
  • The Line spacing would be 1.15,
  • The Paper Margins allowing 1-inch margins on all four sides and justify text on both sides.
