The International Association of Adolescent Health (IAAH) 11th World Congress on Adolescent Health: ‘Investing in Adolescent Health: the Future is Now!’ will take place in New Delhi, India on October 27-29, 2017, combining clinical and public health perspectives, new approaches and best practices to accelerate action for adolescent health and rights both at global and national level.
Of the 1000 delegates attending the Congress, over 100 are youth delegates who have been sponsored by the organizing bodies and funders. In order to support meaningful participation of the youth delegates at the Congress, TYPF has organized a Youth Hub, which is a focal point for youth engagement, explained below:
- As identified by the youth delegates, a series of 9 thematic sessions are taking place that will address their key interest areas of adolescent health. The sessions will be facilitated by expert organisations and professionals, and will provide the youth delegates with an opportunity to share their work as well. These sessions are open to all registered delegates at the Congress, so do attend them!
- Over the 3 days of the Congress, the youth delegates will develop a Youth Health Charter articulating non-negotiables of working with young people, key adolescent health issues, and priorities for investment within adolescent health. The Charter will be advocacy tool for young people that will be presented at the Closing Ceremony of the Congress.
