About

With the advent of rapid population growth industrial activity is expanding day by day. As a result, natural resources are now under severe stress leading to environmental degradation. The level of environmental pollution alarmingly increases, in spite of various control measures. Advanced technologies have been developed to address this problem, but those are not found to be sustainable in many cases.

Skilled operational requirements and high recurring expenses also made them unsuitable for the long run. Under this situation, the technological thrust needs to be given for introducing the sustainable approach in the control of water, air, soil and noise pollution. Moreover, techno-economically viable methods are to be innovated for the emerging contaminants, which can cause a serious threat to the environment.

In order to disseminate the above issues and to explore the research initiatives in the field of sustainable technologies, the first National Conference on Sustainable Advanced Technologies for Environmental Management (SATEM-2017) was held in 2017.

Themes

The National Conference (SATEM-2019) is oriented to include the following themes.

  •  Water Quality Management
  • Advanced Water Treatment
  • Advanced Wastewater Treatment
  • Assessment and Control of Air Pollution
  • Solid and Hazardous Waste Management
  • Prevention of Groundwater Contamination
  • Wetland Management/Phyto-remediation
  • Case Studies in Industrial Pollution Control
  • Management of Emerging Contaminants
