About the Conference

With the evolution of human civilization, began the politics of power. It is rightly said that man is a political animal. Gradually human society got divided in number of groups and subgroups along the lines of race, gender and caste, and some of the groups established their superiority over the other groups to fulfill their self interest.

The groups so privileged perpetuated their superiority and so called inferiority of other groups by manufacturing and circulating the myths and stereotypes amongst the people across the world through literature and the disciplines like anthropology, sociology, history, etc. Today, even in 21st century, we are experiencing and bearing the scourge of man -made division of human species into caste, gender and race.

Is it because of such politics of hegemony that human association between the self and the Other is fissured? Literary perception never fails to voice such issues in the interest of human society. We believe, it is a primary responsibility of the faculty in University Education to take a note of such issues in literary and social canon to shade some light on the fissures in human relations.

This three-day conference therefore intends to invite the attention of scholars in the faculty of humanities and social sciences to identify the logic behind the fissures in human relation to expose the politics of hegemony (being played) by the self against the rest of the Other in religious, legal, political, philosophical, economic and cultural spheres.

We invite the research papers from the research scholars and the academics to examine and revisit the multiple dimensions of the issues of Caste, Gender and Race.
