The huge influx of data in digital form has inspired several recent advancements in the fields of pattern recognition, very often in conjunction with other related areas like statistics, convex optimization, computational intelligence, and graph theory.
The pattern recognition community is active in integrating these advancements and in upgrading them to suitable tools tailor made for challenging applications.
In order to bring together researchers from academia and industry to report and review the latest progresses in pattern recognition, machine learning, and computer vision and to create awareness, the Electronics and Communication Sciences Unit in conjunction with the Systems Science and Informatics Unit of the Indian Statistical Institute will be organizing the 9th International Conference on Advances in Pattern Recognition during December 28- 30, 2017. A tutorial will be organized on December 27, 2017.
A number of paper presentation sessions in the areas of, but not limited to, artificial intelligence, approximate reasoning, atmospheric modeling, atmospheric pattern recognition, remote sensing, bioinformatics, digital signal processing (including speech), computer vision, image & video processing, social network analysis and mining, privacy aware learning, learning and vision based robotics, transfer learning, representation learning and deep machine learning, big data analytics and related mathematical techniques, geosciences and geomorphology, text analytics and NLP, will be organized.
The conference proceedings will be published by IEEE and will be available online on IEEE Xplore (approval pending).
No paper will be included in the proceedings unless it is presented in the conference.
Extended version of some selected papers will be published in special issues of reputed international journals.
The conference will be held at the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) campus in Bangalore (officially known as Bengaluru), the capital of Karnataka state and popularly known as the “Silicon Valley of India” due to the large Information Technology cluster around the city.
Electronic version of full papers not exceeding six pages for double blind review in IEEE conference proceedings format should be submitted (PDF file only) through the online paper submission system available in conference website.
Submitted papers should follow standard academic ethics.
