Admissions Open: Diploma and PG Diploma @ Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology [CIPET JEE 2019]: Apply by June 30: Expired


Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET)-an ISO 9001:2015 QMS, ISO 17025, ISO 17020 accredited premier Institute under the Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India was established in 1968 with objective to develop human resources for the benefits of Plastics and allied Industries.

Today CIPET has a Pan India presence and operate on hub and spokes model with 35 locations to cater more effectively to the need for skilled manpower of Plastics industries. All these centres are equipped with the state-of-the-art technical infrastructure in the areas of Design, CAD/CAM/CAE, Tooling, Plastics Processing, Testing and Quality Assurance.

The course syllabi, as well as curricula for Diploma programmes, are the same across CIPET Centres, and award of Diploma to students is being carried out centrally by Directorate of Academics, CIPET Head Office, Chennai.

CIPET offers training to the Indian and International students for the growth of Plastics and allied industry in India and abroad.

Admissions to all Diploma, Post Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma Courses of CIPET for the Academic Year 2019-20, at its campuses across India for the academic year 2019-20 will be made on the basis of a Computer-based Test conducted by CIPET. This test will be referred to as ‘CIPET Joint Entrance Exam– 2019’, in short as CIPET JEE 2019.


1. Diploma in Plastics Technology

2. Diploma in Plastics Mould Technology

Course Code : DPMT
Duration : 3 years

Entry Qualification :
X Std. with Maths, Science and English.
3. Post Diploma in Plastics Mould Design with CAD/CAM

Course Code : PD-PMD with CAD / CAM
Duration : 1 ½ years
Age : No age bar

Entry Qualification :
3 year Diploma in Mechanical, Plastics Technology, Tool/Production Engineering, Mechatronics, Automobile Engineering, Tool & Die Making, DPMT/DPT (CIPET) or equivalent.
4. Post Graduate Diploma in Plastics Processing and Testing

Course Code : PGD-PPT
Duration : 1 ½ years
Age : No age bar

Entry Qualification :
3 year Degree in Science with Chemistry as one of the subjects.

CIPET Entrance Exam

CIPET is conducting an online exam for selecting candidates for its Diploma courses as it gives the benefits of a high level of transparency as opposed to the traditional method. The user interface is highly interactive making it easy for students to prepare themselves for the examination.

This test ensures a fair, transparent and unbiased selection of the candidates. In addition, it provides Managed time, defined marking scheme, instructions defined by the evaluator to the students.
