The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) invites applications for the posts of Chief Operating Officer (Executive Education) & Manager (Communications) at the institute.

The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) is one of the premier management schools in India. The school has been accorded the status of an Institute of National Importance by the Ministry of Human Resources, Government of India in 2017.

The post details are given below.

 

1. Chief Operation Officer

IIMA invites applications for the position of Chief Operating Officer – Executive Education (COO-EE) from candidates with demonstrated excellence in managing L&D activities with organizations worldwide.

Job Role

The key responsibilities of the person will include:

  • Develop and execute a long-term annual plan for both open enrolment and customized education programs.
  • Engage CXOs/ CHRO/ L&D heads in conversations on enhancing their organizations’ capabilities through learning interventions.
  • Assess the learning needs of various sectors and share information about IIMA programs with appropriate audiences through various channels and methods including networking events, roadshows, digital, and social media promotions, etc.
Qualifications
  1. Postgraduates, preferably an MBA from a reputed institute with at least 15 years’ experience of which at least five years should have been in a senior position involving designing, developing, and marketing of executive education programs or L&D activities or in related professional services.
  2. Should be a strategic thinker, relationship marketeer, digital marketing savvy, have an eye for process improvement, able program administrator, keen interest in people development, good at consultative stakeholder engagement, and knowledge of adult learning practices are critical to success in the role.
  3. Detailed knowledge of L&D requirements of various industries including a good understanding of key management topics and disciplines (e.g., strategy, leadership, finance, accounting, marketing, OB/ HRM, operations/ logistics, digital, ethics, and corporate social responsibility) is desirable.
Salary

The selected candidate will be offered a fixed-term appointment initially for a period of three years on a consolidated monthly salary on CTC mode. The contract may be extended further as per the mutual convenience. Salary will not be a constraint for the deserving candidate and will be commensurate with the candidate’s profile and experience.

2. Manager/ Officer-Communications

IIMA invites applications for the position of Chief Operating Officer – Executive Education (COO-EE) from candidates with demonstrated excellence in managing L&D activities with organizations worldwide.

Job Role

The key responsibilities of the person will include:

  • Build relationships and contacts with relevant print, broadcast, and online journalists in India and overseas.
  • Update, refresh and maintain the quality of IIMA’s external web presence.
  • Update the IIMA community, including faculty, staff, associates, and residents with the Institute’s news and activities.
  • Employ multiple channels including newsletters, lectures, intranet, social media, workshops, and events for communication.
  • Recruit, train, motivate, and manage staff to assist in carrying out the above responsibilities.
Qualifications
  1. Educated to a post-graduate or equivalent degree. Preferable a PG in journalism or MBA communications.
  2. At least ten years’ experience in communications (preferably in the management education sector) or journalism.
  3. Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to adapt style to suit different communication media and audiences.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, and willingness to ‘pitch in’ as required.
Salary

The selected candidate will be offered a fixed-term appointment for a period of three years on a consolidated monthly salary on CTC mode, which may be extended for a further period as required,
